Good-Bye, Joe DeNardo

I am back with you guys today … and I have to bring you sad news as I return from my vacation.

This past Friday, Joe DeNardo, who was a meteorologist at WTAE for 35 years, passed away at the age of 87.  I was able to meet him at Kennywood Park several times over the year.  I got his autograph at least one time … and I was able to be in a photo with him while I was at Kennywood.

Also, a few years ago, me, my aunt and my uncle went to Hoss’s Steak and Sea House in Moon Township for dinner … and, while we were there, I just happened to see Joe DeNardo walking into the restaurant.  I don’t think I said anything then, but I was somewhat happy whenever I saw him walking into the restaurant.

Joe DeNardo was (and still is) one of the best meteorologists of all time.

Tomorrow, I will write my 900th blog post … and it will be about a terrific person.
