Happy 70th Birthday, Barbara Papakie!

During the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I’m gonna give you some chances to revisit some of my past blog posts. Today, I’m going to let you revisit the last blog post from my blog’s second year, which is from August of 2016.

Now, the blog post that I’m going to let you revisit today was written by me on August 14, 2016 … and, on that day, my grandmother, Barbara Papakie, was turning 70. I kept the blog post short by wishing her a happy 70th birthday. She is one of the people who has been able to turn me into the classy gentleman that I am now. She’s slightly over 70 now, but, nonetheless, she is still a terrific woman.

During the month of May, I will give you a chance to revisit some of my blog posts from my blog’s third year. Some of them may look interesting to you. Enjoy your day!

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 30th in previous years …

Joseph Likes The Southern Beltway!

On April 18, 2019, after I left Fella’s Barber Shop in McDonald, I snapped this photo of the bridge, which is part of the new Southern Beltway. The bridge goes over Route 980 near McDonald.

On April 18, 2019, I went to Fella’s Barber Shop in McDonald … and, after I left the barber shop that morning, I snapped a photo of the bridge, which is part of the new Southern Beltway.  The bridge is gonna go over Route 980 in McDonald.  Sorry it wasn’t a good picture of the bridge, but it sort of tells you that it will make a fantastic addition to the new highway.

Over the past couple of years or so, I have been able to see the Southern Beltway being built, whether I ride through McDonald or Gladden.  It’s part of Route 576 … and, so far, it looks fantastic.  Our part of the highway should open at some point this Summer … and the whole highway will be completed in about two years.  I have ridden on one part of it already.  It’s the part that goes from Route 22 near Bavington to Interstate 376 at Pittsburgh International Airport in Findlay Township.  I like the roadway so far … and I can’t wait until they finish building it.  It will be a great roadway to ride on and see whenever it’s finished.

Now, over the years, I have gotten used to seeing a four-lane highway near my house … and it won’t be long before I’ll have to get used to seeing two four-lane highways near my house.  One of them is Route 50, which was first built as a four-lane highway in the 1970s, and the other one is the Southern Beltway, which will open in about two years.

Tomorrow, as we wrap up the month of April, I’m going to give you a chance to revisit the last blog post from my blog’s second year … and I wrote the post down in August of 2016.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 29th in previous years …

Joseph’s Top Blog Posts For May 2019

In less than four months, my blog will turn five years old … and, throughout the month of May, I will give you some chances to revisit some blog posts from my blog’s third year.  I will also give you a few surprises along the way.  Yes, I will also give you some great blog posts in May.

On May 1st, at 6:33 in the morning, I will enter my mid 30s … and I will write a blog post entitled “Joseph Is 33 Today!” on that day.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Joseph Has Owned This Grey Penguins Shirt For Three Years Now!”  I will talk about my love for the shirt three years after I first bought it at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  The Penguins’ season may be over, but I’ll still talk about the shirt in the post anyway.

I will write my 1,125th blog post in May.  What do you think it will be about?  You’ll have to wait a few days before I can tell you what it will be about.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Joseph Is Still ‘Built For The Wild’ One Year Later!”  I will talk about my camouflaged Yeti shirt in the blog post … and I will tell you why I still like it one year after I bought it at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “50,000 Miles In Ten Years!”  Our red car has been at our house for 10 years … and the red Chevrolet Equinox recently crossed the 50,000-mile mark on its odometer.  Hopefully, we can keep this vehicle for another 10 years or so.

I will use my blog’s features in May … and I will tell you how I’ll be using them this time.

My new grey Penguins T-shirt

Throughout the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I will give you a chance to revisit some of my past blog posts. Today, I’m giving you a chance to revisit a post from my blog’s second year. I wrote it in May of 2016.

In May of 2016, I purchased a grey Penguins T-shirt at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx. The shirt was almost too good to pass up … and I decided to buy it after I finished my shift one afternoon. When I first wrote this blog post just one day after I bought the shirt, I said that I would wear the shirt many times in the future … and, for nearly three years, I have kept that promise by wearing it as often as I possibly can. I do wear it during the Penguins season … and I also try to wear it in the off-season as well. I sometimes wear it by itself, but sometimes, I wear it underneath of button-down shirts, sweaters and polo shirts. The shirt is very classy. You can wear the shirt with jeans or shorts … and, in my case, I would often wear it with my white Michael Kors jeans.

Just hours after I bought my shirt at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx, I was able to talk my friend, Chuck Lazzini, into buying the shirt there as well … and we are both able to wear it with class whenever we can. The shirt is fantastic!

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 25th in previous years …

The Third Time Was The Charm

Why is this blog post entitled “The Third Time Was The Charm?”  Well, let me tell you what I mean by that in this case.

Last Thursday, I went to Fella’s Barber Shop, which is located in McDonald, for the third time since I started going there late last year.  The barbers are Hunter Dorazio and Adam Stoffella.  Now, when I went there the first two times, Hunter was able to give me my haircuts there … and, when I went there for the third time last week, Adam, who also owns this Barber Shop, was able to give me my latest haircut.  Now, both Hunter and Adam are fantastic barbers … and it’s kind of hard for me to say which one of the two barbers does a better job in cutting my hair.  For now, I’m going to say it’s a tie.

In the photo on the left, you can see the haircut that Hunter gave me back in December of 2018 … and, in the photo on the right, you can see the haircut that Hunter gave me back in February of 2019.

Now, in the photo, which will appear below this part of the blog post, you can see the haircut that Adam gave me just last Thursday.

On April 18, 2019, I went to Fella’s Barber Shop in McDonald for the third time. Hunter gave me my haircuts the first two times … and Adam was able to cut my hair during my third visit. As you may have guessed, the third time was the charm … and my haircut was fantastic.

As you can see here, the third time was the charm whenever it came to getting my haircuts at Fella’s Barber Shop.  I was finally able to get the owner of this barber shop to cut my hair while I was there.

Next time, I will give you another chance to revisit a blog post from my blog’s second year.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 24th in previous years …

My fame actually lasted longer than one second!

During the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I will give you a chance to revisit some of my past blog posts. Today, I’m going to let you revisit a blog post from March of 2016.

Back in March of 2016, I went to the Home and Garden Show with a relative. It was at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. Now, WPXI always talks about this event in one form or another in its newscasts during the month of March … and I just happened to walk past one of its cameras while I was looking at the exhibits upstairs. Now, little did I know, I would actually appear on WPXI’s newscasts not long after I walked in front of one of the station’s cameras. I didn’t see a red light on it or anything. I guess it must have been on whenever I walked past it. Whenever they showed the event the first time, I appeared on the station for about one second … and, then, when they showed it again a few days later, I was on there for about 5-10 seconds. I was on both WPXI and PCNC that month. I have appeared on WPXI before whenever they would do the MDA Telethon at either Monroeville Mall or the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills. I was putting money into their “fish bowl” whenever I appeared on Channel 11. I was on there several times back in the 2000s. Now, when I appeared on the MDA Telethon on WPXI, I spoke for a second or two … and, when I appeared on WPXI and PCNC three years ago, I said nothing. I guess you could say I have become a “local star” in some form.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 23rd in previous years …

A few days ago, I appeared on one of PCNC’s newscasts for about one second while they were talking about the Home & Garden Show.  Well, one week later, they talked about it again on Channel 11’s Sunday Morning newscasts … and they showed a clip of me walking past one of their cameras … and I was actually on that newscast for about 5-10 seconds or so.  So, my fame actually lasted longer than one second.

Joseph’s Flashback: Joseph stayed at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott!

In the Fall of 1987, a Marriott hotel first opened up its doors along the Parkway West near Pittsburgh International Airport in Findlay Township.  The hotel is located at the corner of Aten Road and Montour Run Road.  It has almost always been a Marriott hotel … and, a few years ago, it was a Wyndham hotel for a while.

Now, when I was younger, I would visit the hotel several times.  I once toured the place with a relative … and I would also spend some nights at the hotel with my relatives.  I would mainly do that in the Winter months.  The rooms there are fantastic … and they also have a great indoor swimming pool.  It also has a whirlpool, a sauna and a fitness center.  They have an outdoor pool as well, but I have never been to it since it’s not open whenever me and my relatives stayed there in the Wintertime.  I also ate in the hotel’s restaurant … and the food there was fantastic.  Also, while I was in the hotel’s indoor pool a few years ago, I may have been able to see members of the New England Patriots coming into the hotel.  It was an exciting moment for me.

I like this hotel a lot … and I hope I can visit it again soon as an overnight guest.  I rode past the hotel recently … and I noticed that they put in a Dunkin’ Donuts in front of the hotel.  The hotel is very classy!

Next time, I will give you a chance to revisit one of my blog posts from my blog’s second year.

I saw more clouds and more blue holes recently!

Happy Easter, my friends!  Today, I’d like to talk about the clouds that I saw in the skies above both Cuddy and National Hill earlier this month … and I would like to talk about the “blue holes” that were in some of those clouds.

First, I’m going to show you photos that I took of some clouds and “blue holes” back on April 6th.  The clouds are white, dark and grey … and you may see a “blue hole” or two in some of these clouds.  I also zoomed in on some neat-looking clouds as well.  There may be a little cloud inside of the big clouds also.

On April 9th, I snapped more photos of the clouds that were in the skies above Cuddy and National Hill.  The clouds that I saw on that day were also white, grey and dark … and there were “blue holes” in these clouds as well.

I hope you guys liked looking at the clouds and the “blue holes” as much as I liked showing them to you.  Enjoy your Easter!

Jay, The Classy Friend

Today, I would like to wish a classy person named Jay Papuga a happy birthday. I have been friends with him for three years … and I bumped into him three times in the past three years.  I met him here at my house, I met him at a festival at Sts. Simon and Jude High School in Scott Township and I met him at his office in Presto.  Jay is one of the classiest people that I have ever known … and, hopefully, I can bump into him again soon.

In July of 2016, I bumped into Jay at a festival, which was taking place at Sts. Simon and Jude High School in Scott Township.

Just over two years later, in August of 2018, I bumped into Jay at his office, which is located in Presto.

On August 31, 2018, I bumped into Jay Papuga while I was at his office in Presto. He actually wore the same State Farm that he wore whenever I bumped into him at a church festival in Scott Township two years earlier.

Now, when I bumped into Jay at both a festival and at his office, he was wearing a grey and red State Farm T-shirt.  You can tell he’s one of the classiest workers that State Farm has ever had.  Thank you, Jay, for allowing me to be one of your friends.
