Joseph Likes To Watch WQED on weekends!

This week, I am giving my computer a break … and, today, I will write a fantastic blog post for you guys.  Earlier this week, I used one of my features in a blog post … and, today, I will talk about something that I like to do on weekends.

Now, on weekends, whenever they’re not showing programs that would air during the pledge drives, I will watch WQED for several hours in various rooms of my house.  Now, on Saturdays, WQED doesn’t show children’s programs on the channel … and I will be able to watch some cooking shows and home improvement shows whenever I get bored.  I will watch it for several minutes at a time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays … and, then, from around 2 until 5 on Saturday afternoons, I will watch Channel 13 while I use my computer.  The shows are very informative … and I happen to like most of them, especially “This Old House” and “The Woodwright’s Shop.”  Now, on Sunday afternoons, I will watch WQED for at least three hours or so while I use my computer, but, if they’re showing the long-form pledge drive programs, I will watch Create, which is on Comcast Channel 201, if I see anything interesting on there.  On Sundays, WQED airs children’s programs on Sunday morning … and, then, they show local programs for a while.  I’ll watch one or two of their local shows on Sundays, especially if it’s one of Rick Sebak’s programs.  Then, I’ll leave Channel 13 on if I see a show that looks interesting enough for me to watch.  Otherwise, I’ll probably switch over to Create for a while and watch some things on there for a while.

If any of my Pittsburgh friends need something on watch on weekends, since there won’t be too many interesting sporting events on our local channels for a while, may I suggest watching WQED for a while on weekend afternoons?  I know I will do just that.

This Sunday morning, at around 5:00, I will start using my computer again … and, at 7:00 that morning, I will tell you about the blog posts that I’ll be writing down in February of 2020.  Enjoy your day, my friends!

Joseph Has A Question For You: Which item should “Mr. Classy” add to his wardrobe collection?

This week, I am giving my computer a break.  I will be giving you guys two great blog posts this week.  I will use my features in this blog post … and, then, later this week, I will give you guys a fantastic blog post.  I can’t tell you the subject of it at this time.  You’ll have to wait until later this week to find out what the subject of that post will be.

“Mr. Classy” has been around for more than four years … and, since then, he has added four items to his wardrobe.  They are the grey Michael Kors jacket, the black leather jacket from Vintage Leather, the light wash denim jacket from Brooklyn Cloth Company and the grey half-zip pullover from Nike.  Now that “Mr. Classy” is in his fifth year, he may want to add one more item to his wardrobe collection.  Here is my question … which item should “Mr. Classy” add to his wardrobe collection?  Please be as specific as possible.  It’s a tough decision, to say the least.

Is this grey Michael Kors jacket classy or what?

Before I start my vacation this evening, I would like to talk about the first jacket that turned me into “Mr. Classy” … and that would be my grey Michael Kors jacket.  I have owned this jacket since December of 2015 … and, several days after I bought it, it would start turning me into “Mr. Classy” every time I would wear it.  Now, “Mr. Classy” is in his fifth year … and I will continue to call myself “Mr. Classy” whenever I wear the grey Michael Kors jacket.  “Mr. Classy” also has the black leather jacket from Vintage Leather, the grey Nike half-zip pullover and the light wash denim jacket from Brooklyn Cloth Company.  “Mr. Classy” will add a fifth item to his wardrobe in a matter of days … and I can’t tell you what it will be just yet.  You’ll have to wait a while to find out what item it will be.

Is this grey Michael Kors jacket classy or what?

Now, from 7:00 this evening until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 2nd, I will give my computer a break … and, next week, I will write two fantastic blog posts for you guys.  I will use one of my blog’s features in one of my blog posts next week.  Enjoy your day, my friends!

As I wrap up this blog post, I would like to give a special thanks to two people who have been able to be Mr. Classy’s “stand-ins” … and they are Jonathan Reed and Tim Smith.  They have been able to wear the grey Michael Kors jackets with class each and every time.

I have owned my green lacrosse pullover for two years!

Two years ago, I got my green South Fayette Lions Lacrosse pullover, which is from Holloway, in the mail.  I really like it … and I’ve worn it several times since I got it.  My friend, Chuck Lazzini, also his this top … and, on two occasions, we have worn them together in various places in South Fayette.  We wore them to South Fayette Fire Hall in February of last year … and we wore them to South Fayette Stadium in May of last year.  This top is full of class … and I will continue to wear it in the future.

On May 4, 2019, while I was watching South Fayette’s lacrosse team play a game at South Fayette Stadium, I bumped into Dom Lazzini, who is the son of one of this blog’s followers, Chuck Lazzini. Dom played for South Fayette’s lacrosse teams in the past and now he plays for Mount Union’s lacrosse team, which is located in Ohio. Chuck and I both had our green lacrosse pullovers on while we were at the game. I wore my Mount Union shirt underneath of my green top and Chuck wore his Mount Union hat.

As I prepare to wrap up today’s blog post, I would like to give a special thanks to Chuck for allowing us to have a classy top like the green South Fayette Lacrosse pullover.  May this top continue to give us class for years to come.

Let’s Talk About A Past Blog Post: Joseph’s New Hewlett-Packard Computer

In February of 2019, I wrote a blog post entitled “Joseph’s New Hewlett-Packard Computer.”  In it, I talked about the computer that I purchased at Best Buy back on February 7, 2019.  At the time, I purchased the keyboard the computer’s tower.  Six days later, the LG computer monitor would come to my house.  I still like the computer … and I have used it nearly every day since I got it last year.  I would start using my new Hewlett-Packard by Valentine’s Day in 2019.  In fact, next month, my computer will be celebrating its first year in my house … and I will talk about the event in a blog post next month.

Here’s the link to the blog post …

I saw one of my co-workers at Bridgeville Giant Eagle three times today!

This afternoon, at around lunch time or so, I went to Bridgeville Giant Eagle … and, while I was there, I happened to bump into one of my co-workers three times … and her name is Sue Cagni.  She works with me at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  We have both worked there in one form or another for nearly 13 years.  She is both a terrific co-worker and a terrific friend … and I sometimes see her there whenever I work there on any given Friday.  Will I see her at work this Friday?  Maybe.

My friend, Shane Trylko, Is Full Of Class!

In March of 2014, I was able to become a true friend of Shane Trylko’s.  Before that, we may have been cousins or something like that, but for nearly six years now, we have been both cousins and friends.  I was able to bump into him in person in 2014 at least twice.  I bumped into him here at my house in March of 2014 … and then, five months later, I bumped into him again at my uncle’s 50th birthday party.  That would be Nicholas Papakie, Jr., of course.

Now, whenever I first became Shane’s friend in March of 2014, I was able to give him a rather classy jacket.  I had purchased this jacket at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx a few days earlier … and it was the subject of one of my first blog posts ever.  I wrote it back in September of 2014.  Now, that jacket would be the green and yellow Brasil jacket.  I also bought that jacket for myself … and, whenever Shane visited us at my home, I gave him his jacket … and he liked it as much as I do.  The green and yellow Brasil jackets became our “friendship jackets” since we were both terrific friends.

After I left Fella’s Barber Shop in McDonald on Thursday morning, I was able to bump into Shane there.  I had just finished getting my haircut whenever I bumped into Shane.  It was the first time that I had seen Shane in person since August of 2014.  He is a very classy friend indeed.

Brady is riding with me in our silver truck!

This afternoon, while I was riding home from work, Brady was riding in our silver truck with me.  We both sat in the front seat for several minutes.  The ride home from work was an interesting one, to say the least.  You might say Brady is a fantastic passenger, to say the least.

On January 17, 2020, while I was riding home from work, Brady rode with me in our silver truck. Brady is a fantastic passenger, to say the least.

I hope I get more chances to ride with Brady in our vehicles in the future.  In a way, it makes my rides a little bit more enjoyable.

Joseph’s Flashback: Joseph used to watch WQEX a long time ago!

For a few years, Pittsburgh had two public television stations … and they are WQED, which is still Pittsburgh’s public television station, and WQEX, which is now WINP, our city’s ION Television station.  Now, WQEX was on Channel 16 here in Pittsburgh for a number of years … and they aired some fantastic programs, including British sitcoms, shows that weren’t on WQED’s schedule because Channel 13 had no room for them on its schedule and a fantastic show called “AgeWise Weekly” with Eleanor Schano.

Now, in the ’90s, I would sometimes watch WQEX mainly out of boredom.  I would watch some fantastic shows on channel 16, including a fishing show called “Rod and Reel Streamside.”  Now, I also remember some of WQEX’s IDs that they showed in the ’90s.  At least one of them spooked me a little bit, but I think it was pretty neat.  I also remember the music that went with it.  I watch that channel before it started simulcasting WQED for a few years.  After Channel 16 stopped simulcasting Channel 13, it became an affiliate of two different shopping channels, including America’s Store and ShopNBC, which is now ShopHQ.  That is on Comcast Channel 89.  Nowadays, it is an ION Television station … and it is WINP.  WINP is mainly a generic ION station, showing a legal ID at the top of every hour.

Finally, it was airing its programs in black and white as late as the mid 1980s.  From the late ’50s until 1985, it used the old WENS transmitter to air its programs.  Now, WENS was originally on channel 16 back in the 1950s … and, believe it or not, the station had its studios on Ivory Avenue, which is where WPGH and WPNT have their operations today.  I recently saw a video on YouTube … and it showed how WQEX aired its programs in black and white before 1985.  The video was from 1983 … and, three years later, it finally started airing its shows in color.

So, while WQEX has been gone for several years, I can still remember the station for a long time.  WQEX was (and still is) one of the best stations in Pittsburgh.

Joseph’s New Alarm Clock Has It All

I got another fantastic Christmas present in 2019.  That would be an alarm clock, which is from Sylvania.  I have it on one of my dressers in my bedroom … and I have been using it every day since I got it.  The alarm clock has just about everything in it.  There is a radio in it … and, while you listen to it, you can also set the sleep timer for up to 90 minutes.  You can do it for 10 to 90 minutes, if you wanted to … or you can just turn the radio off manually whenever you get tired of listening to it.  It also has a snooze button on it, but I probably have no plans on using it since I’m an early riser.  There is also a night light on the alarm clock.  I really like this alarm clock … and I hope you guys like it as well.

If you guys want a classy alarm clock like this one, please consider buying yourselves one at a store near you sometime soon.  You may like it as much as I do.
