I saw dark clouds and snow over the weekend!

Now, over the weekend, we had a little bit of everything in the skies above Pittsburgh.  Now, on two of those days, we had gloomy mornings and nice, sunny afternoons.  On Saturday, the skies were generally clear all day long, to say the least.  Now, let me show you what I saw on both Friday and on Sunday.

This past Friday morning, before I started working at T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods in Bridgeville, I saw a lot of dark clouds in the skies above Great Southern Shopping Center.  Now, in the two photos that I snapped that morning, I also saw some grey clouds and white clouds … and the skies were both grey and blue at that time.  Now, whenever I left work that afternoon, it was nice and sunny outside!  Friday ended up being a nice day after all.

Yesterday morning, I saw some snow on our property.  We didn’t get a whole lot of snow that morning … and I was still able to see some grass in our backyard.  There was a coating of snow on our deck as well … and the items that were on our deck were covered with snow as well.  Not long after I snapped these two pictures, the snow melted, the sun came out and it warmed up just a little bit.  As we get closer to Spring, let me remind you that on some days, we may get a little bit of everything in the same day.

Next time, I will write my 1,325th blog post … and I will give you a hint.  It will be about one of my favorite shirts ever.

Stay safe, my friends!

Joseph Is Celebrating National Umbrella Day!

Today is National Umbrella Day … and, in a way, it’s somewhat appropriate because it rained on National Hill all day long.  While I was walking around my part of National Hill this morning, I was able to hold my Pirates umbrella.  I figured I should celebrate that day in a rather unique way.

On February 10, 2020, I celebrated National Umbrella Day by using my Pirates umbrella while I walked around my part of National Hill that morning.

After I was able to finish taking my walk on National Umbrella Day, I was able to snap a photo of our backyard.  Over the weekend, it was mostly covered with snow … and, when I snapped a photo of our backyard late this morning, the snow was mostly gone.  There was still a little bit of snow left whenever I snapped the photo.

On February 10, 2020, I snapped this photo of our backyard. There was just a little bit of snow left whenever I snapped this photo. Over the weekend, it was completely covered with snow.

Next time, I will write my 1,300th blog post.  I can’t tell you what the topic of it will be just yet.  You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what the topic of my 1,300th blog post will be.

The snow is slowly melting away!

Now, last week, as we were starting the 2018 Spring season, we actually got several inches of snow!  Over the past few days or so, the snow has been melting slowly, but surely here on National Hill.

I was actually walking outdoors this afternoon … and I noticed that the people who live on Cuddy Hill don’t have any snow on the ground while we still have a lot of snow at our house.  In fact, a few houses on National Hill still have snow on their properties as well.

Today, I’d like to show you the snow that is still at our house, just days after we got a snow storm.

There is still some snow in our backyard. I’m pointing to it in this photo.
There is a lot of snow near our house! There’s also snow on the chairs that are in our backyard.

As you can see here, while many other people in our little town have almost no snow on our properties, we have a lot of snow on our property, but, of course, it will all be gone soon.  Hopefully, the snow won’t return to National Hill for a while.

The final resting places of my late pets

Yesterday, I marked the three-year anniversary of the death of my bulldog, Piglet, by showing you photos of my bulldog.  I also showed you her pink stone and her urn.

Today, I’m going to show you the final resting places of my late pets … and their names are Piglet, who was my bulldog, and Beau, who was my white shaggy dog.

First, I’m going to show you Piglet’s urn.  I also included it in a blog post that I wrote down two years ago.  It was about the first anniversary of Piglet’s death … and it was also my 350th blog post.

This is my 350th blog post … and I’m dedicating it to Piglet.

Second, I’d like to show you Beau’s final resting place.  It’s very close to our backyard.  I sometimes visit it whenever I take my walks outdoors.  I also talked about it in one of my blog posts.  I wrote it down back in September of 2016 … and it was in one of my blog’s features, which is called “Joseph’s Moment Of Peace.”

This is Beau’s grave site. Beau was a dog … and he passed away over two decades ago.

I will remember most of these dogs for a long time.  As soon as the weather starts to get warmer, I will visit their final resting places … and I will say hello to them.

Joseph’s Moment Of Peace: Joseph’s Deck

As you know, the weather is starting to get colder … and I won’t be going outdoors too much for a while.  Sure, I might go out onto our front porch on some occasions this Winter, but there’s one thing that I won’t be using this Winter … and that would be my deck.  I have a nice deck in my backyard.  I’d like to talk about it very briefly today.  It’s a relaxing place for me to go to … and it allows me to relax while I stand on it.  I really like this deck a lot.

This is Joseph’s deck. It looks fantastic.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Joseph’s Top Blog Posts About Leaves

Can you believe it?  Today is August 1st … and it’s gonna feel like it today.  In just a few weeks, the leaves are gonna be changing colors … and then they’re all gonna fall down to the ground.

Now, I’m not ready to start thinking about Fall just yet, though, but I would like to tell you about three of my top blog posts, which are about leaves.

Joseph’s Flashback: I got grass stains on my light wash jeans!

Back in June of 2014, I was sweeping some stuff off of our black plastic thing, which is located near our backyard.  I was wearing my light blue jeans from Chaps while I was working outdoors one morning.  I also got some grass stains on my jeans back then.  Those grass stains are long gone now.  I will remember that moment for a long time.

Old Man Winter has returned to our property!

On February 9, 2017, Old Man Winter returned to our property.

This Winter, we haven’t been able to see the snow for long periods of time … and, this morning, Old Man Winter was able to give us some snow.  Our property is once again covered with snow … and in just about two or three days, it will disappear as quickly as it arrived.

Winter doesn’t end until next month, so maybe Old Man Winter will come back to our property again sometime soon.

A frosty morning

This morning, while I was walking around my property, I noticed that there was a lot of frost on our property.  It was a chilly and a frosty morning here on our property … and just moments after I took the pictures of our frosty property, the frost began to melt away … and the temperatures began to rise very rapidly.

First, I wanted to show you our frosty backyard.  My shadow is also in the picture.

There was a lot of frost in our backyard back on March 7, 2016.

We also had a lot of snow on our front porch.

We also had frost on our front porch back on March 7, 2016.

I guess you could say we had a “frosty morning” here at our house!

Say hello to Old Man Winter … again!

It seems like Old Man Winter just can’t stay on National Hill for long periods of time this Winter, but maybe this time around, he can stay here for a fairly long period of time.  It’s gonna be cold and snowy this Valentine’s Day weekend, so it looks like Old Man Winter will be here for a while.  Earlier this week, he gave us some more snow, but he didn’t completely cover up our backyard with snow.

On February 9, 2016, Old Man Winter put some snow on the ground in our backyard. At least he didn’t cover it up completely. Some grass is still showing in our backyard … and I’m pointing to two parts of our backyard … and those parts were still showing some grass whenever I was taking this picture.

I also took a picture of our snow-covered stairs.  One of my relatives swept the snow off of the stairs just hours after I took the picture, which can be seen below this part of this blog post.

There was snow on our stairs whenever I took this picture.

As we move towards the Valentines Day weekend, make sure that you bundle up and remain safe whenever you go outdoors.
