Celebrating more than 10 years of friendship

During the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I will give you a chance to revisit some of my posts from my blog’s fifth year. Today, I will give you another chance to revisit a post from my blog’s third year. I wrote the post in January of 2007 and it’s entitled “Celebrating 10 years of friendship.”

In the blog post, I was talking about my 10-year friendship with Justin McKean. We became friends at South Fayette High School on January 23, 2007 … and he was one of the three substitute teachers that I had on that day. All three of my regular teachers were off on that day. Since then, we keep in touch with each other as often as possible. Over the past 12 years, I have talked with him in e-mails and on Social Media … and I do bump into him in person either once or twice a year, mainly at our local festivals. He is also able to be cool, casual and classy on some occasions … and, in some ways, he has inspired me to follow suit in a way. Since I wrote this blog post more than two years ago, Justin is currently not a fellow WordPress blogger like he was back in early 2017. That may change in the future. All in all, Justin is a terrific friend … and I will try to bump into him at least one time this Summer.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around May 17th in previous years …

Joseph Pratt's Interests And Some Other Things

Ten years ago today, I became friends with one of the coolest and classiest people that I have ever known … and his name is Justin McKean.  On that day, he was one of the three substitute teachers that I had while I went to South Fayette High School on that day.

Since January 23, 2007, Justin has been my teacher, my friend and also my fellow blogger … and we still keep in touch with each other regularly.  We also bump into each other once or twice a year at local festivals.

Back in July of 2016, I bumped into Justin at McSummerfest … and we took a selfie while we were there one evening.

0705161929_HDR On July 5, 2016, I bumped into Justin McKean at McSummerfest in McDonald, PA. We have been friends in one form or another for almost 10 years now. Since 2007, he has been my…

Joseph Has Owned His Grey Penguins Shirt For Three Years Now!

For just over three years, I have owned a classy grey Pittsburgh Penguins T-shirt.  I bought it for less than 10 dollars at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  It was almost too good to pass up.  After I bought the shirt at T.J. Maxx one afternoon back in May of 2016, I was able to talk my friend, Chuck Lazzini, who occasionally follows this blog, into buying that Penguins shirt at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  We have been able to wear them with class over the past three years.  I have worn the shirt with blue jeans, white jeans, dress pants, gym shorts, cargo shorts and even my blue and white Puma pants.

As you can see in these pictures, I like this grey Penguins T-shirt a lot … and my friend, Chuck Lazzini, is able to wear his with class on some occasions.  I will try to wear it many times in the future.

Next time, I will give you a chance to revisit a post from my blog’s third year … and it will be about one of my friends.  I wrote the post in late 2016.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around May 13th in previous years …

Joseph’s New Classy Button-Down Shirt

This past Friday, I was looking for a classy button-down shirt for myself.  It was a tough decision for me to make because I saw a lot of classy button-down shirts while I was at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  I wanted to buy a button-down shirt from Dockers, but, instead, I decided to buy a button-down shirt from Chaps.  Guess what?  It was a little bit classier than the Dockers shirt was … and the sleeves were rolled up just slightly on both sides.

The shirt is a plaid one … and it can be worn with either jeans, dress pants or shorts.  I will do my best to wear this shirt with all three of those items this Spring.  You can also see the Chaps logo very clearly on the front pocket.

On March 15, 2019, I purchased this plaid long-sleeved button-down shirt from Chaps. The sleeves are rolled up slightly on both sides … and it’s a very classy shirt. It can be worn with either jeans, dress pants or shorts … and, when I snapped this photo on March 18, 2019, I was wearing it with white jeans.

Here’s a close-up shot of my new Chaps button-down shirt. You can also see the white Chaps logo on the front pocket of the shirt. I purchased this shirt at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx on March 15, 2019 … and I really like this shirt.

Tomorrow, I will give you another chance to revisit one of my past blog posts as we continue to celebrate my blog’s fifth year.

Bring On The Puma Jackets!

Since the Spring of 2012, I have been able to own at least one Puma jacket … and, now, I have three of them.  One is a blue and white Agile jacket, one is a blue Clyde jacket and one is a grey and black fleece jacket.  The Puma jacket that I like the best is the grey and black Puma jacket, which I got as a birthday present back in April.  I like it a lot … and I was able to talk my friend, Michael Keehn, into buying one online at around the same time.  He likes it as much as I do.

We were supposed to wear the jackets to Hickory’s Apple Festival earlier this month, but it was too hot for us to do that.  We were able to wear them at our respective locations on October 13th.  The jackets are full of class and swag.  Hopefully, we can wear them somewhere soon.

Does “Mr. Classy” have a new “stand-in?”

This is a blog post that I had been wanting to write down for sometime … and, today, I get to do just that.

Now, in June of 2016, I became friends with a terrific person named Jonathan Reed.  Just in case you don’t know who he is, he’s married to a person that I went to school with more than 10 years ago.  Anyway, I “hired” him to become Mr. Classy’s “stand-in” just days after we became friends.  This way, he would be able to step up to the plate whenever “Mr. Classy” was unable to fulfill his duties.  He wasn’t able to do that too much, but he still did a fantastic job as Mr. Classy’s “stand-in.”  He gave up his duties whenever he had to part with the grey MK jacket.

This is Mr. Classy’s original “stand-in” … and his name is Jonathan Reed.  He was able to wear his grey MK jacket with class for a few months.  He gave up his duties as Mr. Classy’s “stand-in” whenever he parted with his grey MK jacket.

On August 16, 2018, “Mr. Classy” hired a new “stand-in” … and he would be able to fulfill Mr. Classy’s duties whenever he is unable to do so.  Of course, his new “stand-in” is a classy person.  Let me tell who “Mr. Classy” has hired to be his new “stand-in.”  His name is … Tim Smith.  Tim is a terrific person … and he is doing a fantastic job as Mr. Classy’s new “stand-in” so far.  Tim is married to my cousin, Sarah Smith.

Joseph Has Owned His Grey Pens Shirt For Two Years Now!

Two years ago today, I purchased a grey Penguins shirt at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx.  The shirt was only eight dollars … and I was also able to talk one of my friends into buying one there as well.  The friend in question is Chuck Lazzini, who is also known as “Captain Cool.”  Since then, we have been able to wear them with class a few times.  This is actually my favorite Penguins shirt ever.

I will continue to wear this Penguins shirt many more times in the future, but I do have a new rule that I will implement, starting today.  I will wear this shirt during hockey season, but I will do my best not to wear it whenever the Penguins are playing their games.  I will wear my other Penguins shirts on game days.

I am casual, classy and cool today!

Today, I was being casual, classy and cool again … and I was able to become those three things in a rather unique way.  Let me tell you exactly how I did that.

My blue Nautica jeans make me a casual person, my black MK jacket makes me a classy person and my white Pirates jersey makes me a cool person.

Dressing casually … sort of

For several years, I’ve been a semi-casual dresser.  Now, I like to dress casually on a regular basis.  Whenever I say that I like to dress casually, I wear jeans with either buttoned-down shirts or polo shirts.  Sometimes, I’ll wear jeans with a sports jersey.  I’m trying to dress “conservatively,” whenever I can.  Of course, whenever I work, I wear tan-colored pants and a polo shirt.  I’ll also wear those pants with either a short-sleeved buttoned-down shirt or a long-sleeved buttoned-down shirt.
