The Origins Of “Mr. Classy”

For the past three years now, I have been able to call myself “Mr. Classy” whenever I would wear the grey Michael Kors jacket or the black leather jacket, which is from Vintage Leather.  Like yours truly, “Mr. Classy” is an introvert also.  He likes to be alone after being out and about for hours at a time.

Well, anyway, let me tell you how I cam up with “Mr. Classy” as my current nickname.  In 2015, one of my friends, whose name is Jeff Mooney, worked with me at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx … and he would sometimes call himself “Mr. Grey.”  It was sort of named after a character in the movie “Fifty Shades Of Grey.”  That’s sort of the reason why I chose “Mr. Classy” as my current nickname.  It happened just days after I bought my grey Michael Kors jacket at T.J. Maxx.  I like the jacket so much, I wanted to create an alter ego based around the jacket.  I didn’t call myself “Mr. Classy” right away.  As we were about to start the year 2016 together, I put on the jacket, I said I was “Mr. Classy” and “Mr. Classy” was born.

These pictures of “Mr. Classy” appeared in my blog posts throughout 2018.

In December of 2015, I snapped these photos right after I purchased the grey Michael Kors jacket.  I wouldn’t start calling myself “Mr. Classy” until the beginning of 2016.

“Mr. Classy” has had a lot of fun over the past three years … and he has had two “stand-ins” in those three years.  The “stand-ins” have also worn the grey MK jackets.  Jonathan Reed was Mr. Classy’s original “stand-in” … and Tim Smith is his current “stand-in.”

“‘Mr. Classy’ and his ‘stand-ins” all say, ‘see you all later!'”

Thank you for allowing me to become “Mr. Classy” for the past three years.

I will be giving my computer a break from 7:00 this evening until 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2nd.  I will try to give you some terrific blog posts while I give my computer a break over the next week.  Enjoy your day!

Happy 30th Birthday, Sarah!

30 years ago today, I became a first-time cousin whenever Sarah Smith was born.  Since then, she has become one of the classiest cousins and friends that I have ever known.  Today, I would like to wish her a happy 30th birthday.  Happy 30th birthday, Sarah!

Back in the 2000s, Joseph and his cousin, Sarah Smith, were in Cecil Park for a few hours. They have been cousins and friends for 30 years now!

This is what I used my 50-dollar bill on!

A few weeks ago, I got a huge paycheck because it was the Holiday Season.  My paycheck was worth a lot more money than it usually is.  I can’t give you the exact amount, but I can tell you that the check was over 50 dollars.  As I was cashing that paycheck, a cashier was nice enough to give me a 50-dollar bill … and, in a way, that’s a problem for me because I really don’t know what I should buy with it.

Well, several days later, I was able to solve that problem on my own.  While I was working on December 8th, I saw some grey California Republic hoodies in our store’s back room … and, before I left work for the day, I was able to buy three of those hoodies with my 50-dollar bill.  I bought one for myself and for two of my cousins as Christmas presents.  I really like this hoodie … and I hope that my cousins will like them as well.

On December 8, 2017, I bought three of these grey California Republic hoodies with my 50-dollar bill. The hoodies will be for me and for two of my cousins. I bought them as Christmas presents for us.

After all, I had to buy at least one interesting thing with my 50-dollar bill, correct?  Am I a thrifty shopper or what?

As I wrap up this blog post, I’d like to show you a photo of me, Joseph Pratt, wearing the new grey California Republic hoodie with class.

Joseph rode on McKnight Road for the first time ever!

On Saturday evening, I was going to Scarlett’s third birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s.  A lot of my relatives and their friends were there as well.  Now, it was originally supposed to be in Bridgeville, but at the last minute, they moved it to the North Hills.  That change in venue prompted me to make history in a way.

I have lived in Pittsburgh my whole time.  I have seen most of Allegheny County in one form or another over the past 31 years of my life.  I have traveled on many of our area’s roadways over the years, but there is one road that I have never been on before until Saturday evening.  That road is McKnight Road.

Sure, I have heard of McKnight Road many times over the years, but I have never ridden on it before in my life.  I also saw parts of it while I was riding along the Parkway North with my relatives.  I was able to ride on McKnight Road for the very first time in my short life on Saturday.  It was rather interesting, to say the least.  I also got to see the signs for Ross Park Mall while I was riding on the roadway.  I have never been to that mall before in my life, but hopefully, I’ll be able to go there in the future.

Will I ever ride on McKnight Road again in the future?  Uh … maybe.

A fantastic cousin

I’m starting to take my evening walks again … and over the past few days, I have been able to see some clouds in the sky, but while I was walking late yesterday afternoon, I bumped into one of my cousins.  Her name is Lori Papakie Miller.  I have bumped into her at various places many times over the years … and once I bumped into her yesterday, I was able to take a selfie with her while I was taking my evening walk.

On August 5, 2017, I bumped into Lori Papakie Miller while I was taking my evening walk.

Three Classy Cousins

Now, back in November of 2012, me, Derek Papakie and Tom McCombs wore our black and white Nike jackets in front of our relatives on Thanksgiving evening.  I have talked about this event in a couple of my blog posts in the past … and, today, I wanted to talk about it again.  That’s because I wanted to bring up a rather interesting point here.  I think the three of us look like classy cousins in our jackets.  Do you agree with me?

I now have a new baby cousin!

Nearly two weeks ago, my newest baby cousin was born … and his name is Ezra.  Since I don’t have any siblings, I will not be “Uncle Joseph” to Ezra.  My cousin, Sarah Smith, and her husband, Tim Smith, became parents on April 15th whenever Ezra was born.  I believe Ezra is now my cousin.  I haven’t met my newest cousin yet, but hopefully, I’ll be able to do that soon.

Joseph’s Top Blog Posts About His Cousins

I am an only child.  I don’t have any siblings at all, but, as you probably know, I have a lot of cousins.  Some of them are unique … and some of them are classy.  Over the past 2 3/4 years or so, I have written some rather interesting blog posts about my cousins.

Today, I’d like to show you some of my top blog posts, which are about my cousins.

Happy 1st Birthday, Scarlett! (October 26, 2015)
Happy 25th Birthday, Andrew! (November 28, 2015)
Guess who’s turning 25 today? (February 26, 2015)
Happy 21st birthday, Cheyenne! (May 19, 2016)

As you can see, I have some terrific cousins here … and, in a way, I’m a terrific cousin as well.

Joseph’s Road To His 30th Birthday: Joseph’s 27th Year On Earth

I have some of the best cousins in the world … and back in November of 2012, I bought some black and white Nike jackets for me and for three of my cousins at a Pittsburgh-area T.J. Maxx store.  On Thanksgiving night back in 2012, I gave the jackets to two of my cousins … and they are Tom McCombs and Derek Papakie.  We were able to wear them for a few minutes in front of our relatives back then.  We even wore them on my front porch briefly.

Several weeks earlier, I saw a trailer for a movie called “The Watch” … and in some of the movie’s scenes, the four characters were wearing matching jackets … and it partially inspired me to do something like this with my cousins on Thanksgiving night back in 2012.

Me, Tom McCombs and Derek Papakie wore our black and white Nike jackets on our front porch back on Thanksgiving night in 2012.

I also bought a black and white Nike jacket for another one of my cousins as well … and his name is Andrew Suchan.  I gave him the jacket back in February of 2013.  We were also able to wear our jackets in front of my relatives for a few moments back then.
