Joseph’s Raises The Collar On His Polo Shirt

On January 7, 2020, I wanted to try something a little bit different.  As you probably know, I like polo shirts a lot … and I like the way that they make the collars on those shirts.  Now, while I was wearing my grey Chaps polo shirt on that day, I wanted to put the collar up on my shirt.  I had never really done anything like that before, but, since we are in both a new year and a new decade, I wanted to try new things.  Now, I think that look was a somewhat interesting one to me.  I probably won’t do anything like that for a while, but who knows?  I may give it a try again at some point in the near future.

I also wore my green South Fayette Lacrosse pullover over the polo shirt on that day.  It adds more class to the look that I was going for this past Tuesday.

Joseph Is Not Watching PCNC Anymore

We are already one week into the year 2020 and the 2020s … and some parts of the new year and the new decade have not been good to me, especially when it comes to the shows and channels that I watch on a daily basis.  On New Year’s Day, I was not able to watch PCNC after being able to do so for the last three or four years or so.  It was on Comcast Channel 35 for a few years or so.  For a few days or so, a message appeared on a black screen while I was able to watch Channel 35 for, maybe, a “split second” or so … and, on Monday, the channel officially disappeared from our cable lineup.  Since I’m not able to watch PCNC anymore, I now have to change my weekday viewing habits a little bit.  In the mornings, I will watch The Hallmark Channel and CNN … and, in the afternoons and the early evening hours, I will watch just CNN.  That may be a good thing for me in this case, because, later this year, CNN will celebrate its 40th anniversary on the air.  CNN is on Comcast Channel 32.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to watch PCNC in one form or another in another location at some point this year, but, until then, I won’t be able to do so in my own home.

Just so you know, PCNC is short for Pittsburgh Cable News Channel … and CNN is short for Cable News Network.

Joseph Gets A “D” In A Good Way

Now, as you can see, the title of today’s blog post is “Joseph Gets A ‘D’ In A Good Way.”  Now, I didn’t do a bad job with anything in particular.  In the blog post, I’m going to talk about getting more Vitamin D inside of me.  When I went to the doctor’s office yesterday morning, the nurse who spoke with me said that my Vitamin D levels were low, but I’m going to try to change that in a good way.  This morning, I took a Vitamin D3 gummy from Vitafusion, which I purchased yesterday at Bridgeville Giant Eagle.  It says, “Take two gummy vitamins per day.”  Now, should I take two of them at the same time … or should I space them out accordingly by taking one vitamin in the morning and one vitamin in the evening?  I’ll leave that up to you guys.  Now, in this case, I would be getting a “D” in a good way by getting more Vitamin D inside of me.

Enjoy your day … and, next time, I will celebrate a rather unique milestone of sorts.

Finding the respect you never knew you had before

I would just like to thank you all for trying your best to say “please” and “thank you” to me as often as you possibly can.  It really makes me feel more respected than ever before … and, in the process, you guys are able to find the respect that you never knew you had before.  You guys are fantastic … and I hope you guys will continue to say “please” and “thank you” to me as often as possible as we enter both a new year and a new decade.

Joseph needs some false teeth!

As you probably know, I got two of my upper teeth removed on November 26, 2019 … and I’m thinking about getting false teeth for my upper teeth in the future.  I’m thinking about getting either getting flexible partial dentures or dental implants.  I don’t want my mouth to be full of metal, if you know what I mean.  I may have a new smile in both the new year and the new decade.  Wish me luck!

Joseph Wants To Switch Dentists In The Future

Last month, I went to Katsur Dental in Collier Towne Square for the first time since the Spring of 2018.  Now, I have been going there for the past few years now.  Before it moved to Collier Towne Square, it was in Raceway Plaza.  I also went there when it was in Raceway Plaza.  The building that once housed it is located near Wal-Mart … and, believe it or not, it is still standing there today, years after it left Raceway Plaza.  Before that, I went to Dr. William Syling’s office, which was located in Presto.  I also went to his old office in Great Southern Shopping Center years ago before he moved to Presto.  Dr. Syling’s old office was located close to where L.A. Fitness is now.  Years earlier, I went to a now-closed dentist’s office on Route 60 in Robinson Township.  Rita’s Italian Ice is there now.

Now, this Tuesday morning at 10:00, I will get two more of my upper teeth removed at the oral surgeon’s office in Peters Township … and I will be getting partial dentures not long after that.  Now, after I get two more of my teeth removed, I may consider switching dentists in the future.  I kind of want to go to the dentist that is somewhat caring and is able to listen to my needs in a friendly manner.  Now, I would like to go to either DiBartola Dental in South Fayette or Progressive Dental Solutions in Peters Township.  I would also like to go to a dentist’s office that has flat-screen TVs in the exam rooms.  This way, I can watch CNN or a similar channel in the office while I’m getting work done.  Of course, you never know which dentist I will be going to in the future.

Now, if I do need partial dentures in the future, I want flexible partial dentures.  This way, the dentures can just blend in with my upper teeth.  If I can’t find a dentist who will be able to give me flexible partial dentures in the future, I will find a dentist who can do just that.

Enjoy your day, my friends!

Revisiting Joseph’s 700th Blog Post

During the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I will give you some chances to revisit some of my past blog posts. Today, I am going to let you revisit my 700th blog post, which is the last blog post from my blog’s third year.

In August of 2017, I went to Maestro’s Barber Shop and I was able to wear my Maestro’s Barber Shop T-shirt to that place. Me and most of the other barbers were able to wear the shirts in a photo that I took just before I left the barber shop back on August 2, 2017. I wrote a blog post about it nearly two weeks later and it ended up becoming my 700th blog post. As I stated in a previous blog post not too long ago, I’m currently not going to Maestro’s Barber Shop as a customer, but there is a possibility that I may return there as a customer again in the near future. These barbers are some of the best ones in the Pittsburgh area.

I would like to thank Tony Talotta and the other barbers at Maestro’s Barber Shop, which is located in Bridgeville, for allowing me to have a Maestro’s Barber Shop T-shirt. I would like to apologize for not being able to visit that barber shop for a while. I wanted to try something different. I will do my best to return to that barber shop at some point this year.

This is not my 700th blog post.  This is my 1,131st blog post.  I’m just letting you revisit my 700th blog post.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around May 29th in previous years …

Joseph Pratt's Interests And Some Other Things

My blog reached another milestone today.  I’m gonna write down my 700th blog post today.

My 700th blog post is gonna be about some of the coolest and classiest people that I have ever known.  These people all work at a place called Maestro’s Barber Shop in Bridgeville.  I actually went to school with one of those barbers … and I also knew some of these barbers whenever they were working at the Great Southern Barber Shop in Collier Township.  I was able to appear in a photo with four of those barbers recently … and most of us were able to wear our Maestro’s Barbershop shirts at the barber shop a few days ago.

0802171201 On August 2, 2017, I appeared in a photo with four of the barbers who work at Maestro’s Barber Shop in Bridgeville. Most of us wore our Maestro’s Barber Shop shirts to that place back…

Joseph Will Soon Have A New Hewlett-Packard Computer!

After more than 3 1/2 years, I will soon be getting a new Hewlett-Packard computer … and, on February 7, 2019, I chose the computer that will be replacing the computer that I have now.  The computer is also from Hewlett-Packard … and I will be able to put that computer to use at some point next week.  I chose the computer at Best Buy in North Fayette that afternoon … and, ironically, I purchased my current Hewlett-Packard computer there in the summer of 2015.  I think I will like my new computer a lot … and I hope you guys will like it as well.

Joseph Is Switching Barber Shops In 2019

Yesterday morning, at around 10:00 or so, I got a haircut at Fella’s Barbershop, which is located in McDonald.  I went there back in December … and I really liked the place a lot.

On February 7, 2019, I went to Fella’s Barbershop in McDonald for the second time ever. I previously went there in December. I snapped this selfie just moments before Hunter Dorazio, who is one of the place’s barbers, gave me my haircut.

Now, Hunter Dorazio, who is one of the barbers at Fella’s Barber Shop, gave me my haircut again … and he did a fantastic job in giving me my haircut yesterday.  After I left the place, I gave it a lot of thought … and I’ve decided that I will be going to this place on a regular basis.  I will be going there again in just a few short weeks.

Over the years, I have gotten my haircuts at various places, including Fantastic Sams, Holiday Hair, The Great Southern Barber Shop, SportClips, the old JCPenney Salon in Bridgeville, BoRics Hair Salon in Scott Township, Great Clips and Maestro’s Barber Shop.  Now I will be getting my haircuts at Fella’s Barber Shop in the future.  Please don’t say anything negative about my decision.  It was a choice I made myself.

My walking schedule will change in 2019!

As you know, I am no longer taking my evening walks around National Hill.  I was able to walk around the neighborhood on Sunday afternoon since it was warm and sunny outside.  I know it’s early December, but I just had to do that.  Well, anyway, I will be walking around National Hill several times in 2019 … and I will be changing my walking schedule considerably, so that I do not disturb my friends and neighbors too much.

Here’s my walking schedule for 2019 …

Weekdays: Walk anytime between 9:00 in the morning and 12:30 in the afternoon
Weekends: Walk anytime between 7:30 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon

I hope you like this new schedule.  I have some terrific friends and neighbors on National Hill … and I’d like to keep it that way for a long time.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around December 4th in previous years …
