This afternoon, at around lunch time or so, I went to Bridgeville Giant Eagle … and, while I was there, I happened to bump into one of my co-workers three times … and her name is Sue Cagni. She works with me at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx. We have both worked there in one form or another for nearly 13 years. She is both a terrific co-worker and a terrific friend … and I sometimes see her there whenever I work there on any given Friday. Will I see her at work this Friday? Maybe.
We are already one week into the year 2020 and the 2020s … and some parts of the new year and the new decade have not been good to me, especially when it comes to the shows and channels that I watch on a daily basis. On New Year’s Day, I was not able to watch PCNC after being able to do so for the last three or four years or so. It was on Comcast Channel 35 for a few years or so. For a few days or so, a message appeared on a black screen while I was able to watch Channel 35 for, maybe, a “split second” or so … and, on Monday, the channel officially disappeared from our cable lineup. Since I’m not able to watch PCNC anymore, I now have to change my weekday viewing habits a little bit. In the mornings, I will watch The Hallmark Channel and CNN … and, in the afternoons and the early evening hours, I will watch just CNN. That may be a good thing for me in this case, because, later this year, CNN will celebrate its 40th anniversary on the air. CNN is on Comcast Channel 32. Hopefully, I’ll be able to watch PCNC in one form or another in another location at some point this year, but, until then, I won’t be able to do so in my own home.
Just so you know, PCNC is short for Pittsburgh Cable News Channel … and CNN is short for Cable News Network.
37 years ago this week, on December 13, 1982, Vanna White and Pat Sajak started doing “Wheel of Fortune” together. At the time, the game show aired on NBC Daytime … and the current syndicated version of the show would premiere a few months later on September 19, 1983. Now, Pat would actually host the show while Vanna would show us the letters that were in the puzzle board. Now, if you were watching “Wheel of Fortune” last evening on your local station, you may have noticed something a little bit different. Vanna was hosting the show alone while Pat was recovering from surgery. Now, Vanna will host the show alone for the next few days … and, then, as we start both a new year and a new decade, things will be back to normal again.
Now, this will not be the first time that Vanna has hosted the show instead of Pat. In 1996, she hosted the last few minutes of an episode of the show while Pat had laryngitis. I don’t usually watch the show by myself, but since last night’s episode of the show was a rather interesting one, I decided to watch the first few minutes of the show on WPXI, which is the station that has been carrying “Wheel of Fortune” in Pittsburgh for more than 30 years. I just watched the first round of the show yesterday evening … and, in my opinion, Vanna did a fantastic job in hosting the program. Yes, Pat also does a fantastic job in hosting “Wheel of Fortune.”
So, as the next few days go by, we’ll see how the show goes as Vanna fills in for Pat for the next few days or so. The show will still be fun to watch, nonetheless. Yes, she also hosted the version of the game that you would play on CD-ROMs … and I remember seeing her host that version of “Wheel of Fortune” several years ago.
Today, I am writing my 1,225th blog post … and it’s going to be a personal post this time. Now, on October 16th, I went to Katsur Dental, which is located in Collier Towne Square, for the first time since the Spring of 2018. My dental appointments usually go fairly well, but it didn’t go so well this time around. I have to get two more of my upper teeth removed … and I have to get at least one filling. I will be getting my two upper teeth removed at a later date at the same oral surgeon’s office that I went to in October of 2015 whenever I had my wisdom teeth removed. Now, it could be hereditary. My father, James Pratt, had some teeth removed at a young age … and he had false teeth whenever he was in his 30s. Yes, I will have false teeth while I’m in my 30s … and I feel ashamed about that.
I don’t know when I’ll be getting my two upper teeth removed yet … and I may switch dentists next year. I will be getting partial dentures in the near future. I wonder which ones I should get.
Four years ago today, I got my wisdom teeth removed at the oral surgeon’s office in Peters Township, which is in Washington County. The procedure went fairly well … and I’ve been doing fairly well since then.
I was able to recover nicely after I got my wisdom teeth removed back in October of 2015. I had my stuffed lamb with me while I was recovering from my surgery that weekend … and I have him again as I celebrate this anniversary.
In 1998, I went to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, with my relatives … and I was able to visit the Magic Kingdom while I was there. Now, I have ridden on train rides at various amusement parks for as long as I can remember … and I did see a train ride while I was at Disney World. It’s called the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The ride is in the Frontierland section of the Magic Kingdom.
Well, innocently enough, I go on what looks like a train ride, but not long after I get on the so-called “train ride,” I find out that I’m actually on a … roller coaster! Can you believe that?! Now, I had never ridden on a roller coaster in my life until then … and I have not ridden on one since I rode on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disney World 21 years ago.
Will I ride on another roller coaster again? I don’t think so!
Now, yesterday afternoon, we said good-bye to our red Chevrolet truck after nearly six years. It was at our house from December 11, 2013, until September 17, 2019. It was a red 2013 Chevrolet truck. Now, after we said good-bye to that truck, we were able to replace it with a silver 2019 Chevrolet truck. We purchased the truck at a Pittsburgh-area Chevrolet dealership.
Now, before I show you our new silver truck, let’s take a moment to say good-bye to our red Chevrolet truck.
OUR RED CHEVROLET TRUCK (December 11, 2013 – September 17, 2019)
Now, I’d like to show you four pictures of our new silver 2019 Chevrolet truck.
I have not been inside of this truck yet, but, hopefully, I’ll be able to go inside of it sometime soon. Of course, I will also tell you how many miles is on the truck’s odometer whenever I get the chance to do so. I can hardly wait to go inside of this truck. I will try to show you the inside of it in a future blog post.
During the second half of my blog’s fifth year, I will give you some chances to revisit some of my past blog posts … and, during the month of July, I will give you chances to revisit posts from my blog’s fifth year. Today, I will give you a chance to revisit a post from January of 2019 … and it is called “Tunch And Joseph.”
Now, just one week before I wrote this blog post, I happened to bump into Tunch Ilkin while I was working in the front part of Bridgeville T.J. Maxx. I was cleaning the shelves that were near the line that goes to the cash registers … and Tunch just happened to walk inside of the store whenever I did just that. Tunch was a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers for more than a decade … and he also does a Steelers-themed radio show called “Tunch And Wolf.” He also does commercials for Colussy Chevrolet, which is located in South Fayette. Anyway, meeting Tunch Ilkin in person was probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me … and it is an experience that I will not forget.
Next time, I will give you a chance to revisit a post from May of 2019 and it will be about one of the classiest people that I have ever known.
In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around July 16th in previous years …
Joseph’s tea might have some “zing” in it (July 16, 2018)
Look who I bumped into! (July 16, 2017)
How does Joseph make his videos? (July 17, 2016)
Revisiting a lesser-known blog post: The “cool dude” is back … and he just bought some new flip flops! (July 16, 2015)
I am celebrating two milestones on Facebook today! (July 18, 2017)
If you’re wondering why the title of today’s blog post is “Tunch And Joseph,” let me explain the reason why I called it that. There’s a radio show called “Tunch And Wolf” … and, in it, they talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s a little play on words or something like that. That’s why I called it “Tunch And Joseph.”
Well, anyway, I’d like to tell you about the celebrity that I met while I was working at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx last Friday. While I was working near the front of the store that morning, I noticed that Tunch Ilkin, who played with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1980 until 1992, came into the store … and he happened to notice that I was working near the front of T.J. Maxx. While I was working late that morning, I happened to meet Tunch Ilkin in person … and I was able…

I am giving my computer a break this week, but I will continue to give you some interesting blog posts this week. I will start using my computer again at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 16th.
As you probably know, I did say that I would have some surprises for you guys during my blog’s fifth year … and you may be surprised in a big way when you see the subject of today’s blog post. For the first time ever in the history of this blog, my blog surprised the 100-views mark in a single week. I snapped a photo of my blog doing so back on June 2, 2019 … and, whenever I snapped the photo, it was seen 103 times during the week of May 27, 2019. Since I snapped that photo, the number increased slightly. My blog was seen 107 times in a single week this past week. I don’t think my blog has ever had 100 views in a single week before, but, of course, it may have come close to it on a few occasions. Thank you for allowing my blog to reach this rather unique milestone this past week.
In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around June 14th in previous years …

Over the weekend, I got a brand-new bulldog. This bulldog is full of class … and his name is Brady. Brady is a male English bulldog, he’s three months old and he’s from the state of Ohio. He first came to our house on Saturday afternoon … and, over the past three days or so, I have gotten used to having him in our house. I’m able to watch him sleep on the couch in the mornings whenever I’m able to do so … and I’m also able to watch him outdoors whenever the weather is nice.
So, without further ado, I would like you to meet my new bulldog, Brady.
During the day, Brady likes to sleep on our couch … and, for the past two mornings, I have been able to watch him sleep on the couch for a few minutes or so. It’s gonna take me a while to get used to having him be in our house regularly, but I think I should be able to handle this adjust fairly well. Me and Brady became fast friends almost immediately this past weekend.
Let me show you three photos of Brady sleeping on our couch. I snapped these photos both today and yesterday.
I hope you guys like Brady as much as I do. How do you guys like him?
