Joseph’s Flashback: Joseph is staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando!

Today, you will be getting two blog posts in one day.  I wrote a blog post for you guys at 7:00 this morning … and now, you will get a blog post this afternoon.  I will be getting some dental work done on Tuesday … and I will be giving my computer a break from 7:00 this evening until either 1:45 on Wednesday afternoon or 5:00 on Thursday morning.  I will see how I’m feeling then.

In the Summer of 1998, I was spending some time in Orlando with my relatives.  While I was there, I was able to stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando for a few days.  I like the hotel a lot … and I was able to enjoy myself while I was there.  The hotel is still there today.  It’s still pretty much the same on the outside, but the current Hyatt Regency logo is on the top of the building.  I believe it would be on the back side of the hotel.  Now, the hotel has some terrific amenities there … and their swimming pool is fantastic.  They also have a neat suspension bridge that goes over the pool.  The hotel has a fantastic golf course as well.  I didn’t check it out, though.

The hotel is fantastic … and, if I ever visit Orlando again, I will try to stay at this hotel again.  I really like it a lot.

Next time, I will write my 1,250th blog post for you guys.  What do you think it will be about?

Joseph’s Top Blog Posts For September 2019

Can you believe it?  My blog’s sixth year is now underway … and I’ll be giving you some fantastic blog posts in the month of September.  I will give my features a break in September, but they will return in October.  So, let me tell you which blog posts I’ll be writing down in September.

I will write my 1,200th blog post in September.  It will be about one of my friends … and it will be entitled “Joseph’s 1,200th Blog Post Is Full Of Swag!”

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Joseph Has Had A Denim Jacket From Guess For One Year!”  I will talk about my denim jacket, which is from Guess.  I have owned it for almost one year.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Seeing clouds in my neighborhood.”  For several weeks, I snapped some photos of the clouds that were in the skies above National Hill.  You’ll see them in a blog in September.  The clouds may surprise you.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Say hello to the barbers of Fella’s Barbershop!”  I will tlak about the barbers who work at Fella’s Barbershop … and they are Adam Stoffella and Hunter Dorazio.  There is also a third barber at that barber shop, but the third barber was not there whenever I went to Fella’s Barbershop a few weeks ago.

I will give my computer a break for a few days in September.  I’ll be doing that from 7 p.m. on Friday, September 6th, until 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 15th.  I will give you two blog posts that week.  On September 8th, I will write a post entitled “Thank you for following my blog for over 5 years!”  I will be thanking the people who have been following my blog for at least five years in this blog post.  Then, on Thursday, September 12th, I will write a blog post entitled “Thank you for following my blog for three to five years!”  In this post, I will thank the people who have followed my blog for three to five years.

I hope you will check out at least one of my blog posts in September.  They may look interesting to you.

Joseph Visits Kennywood On KDKA Summerblast Day (Part 2)

Yesterday, in the first part of this two-part blog post, I told you about my trip to Kennywood by describing the day in general.  In it, I told you about the clouds that I saw in the skies above the amusement park, I told you about the friends that I met while I was there and I told you about the station’s Mobile Weather Lab.  Now, today, in the second part of this two-part blog post, I’m going to tell you about some of the personalities that I met while I was at Kennywood Park.  One of them recently retired from KDKA after working there for 37 years … and I will tell you which one it is before I end the two-part blog post.  So, without further ado, let me show you the personalities that I met while I was at Kennywood back on July 26th.

On July 26, 2019, I met KDKA anchor Susan Koeppen while I was at Kennywood Park. Susan anchors KDKA’s afternoon and evening newscasts during the week.

The first personality I bumped into while I was at Kennywood was Susan Koeppen.  Susan anchors the 4:00 and 6:00 newscasts with Stacy Smith … and she anchors the 11:00 newscast with Ken Rice.  She does this during the week.

On July 26, 2019, I also met Lisa Washington and Amy Wadas while I was at Kennywood Park. Both Lisa and Amy are reporters at KDKA … and, just last month, Lisa became the anchor of KDKA’s weekend morning newscasts.

I also met Meghan Schiller, who is a reporter for KDKA, while I was at Kennywood Park on July 26, 2019.

I also bumped into three of KDKA’s reporters while I was there.  They are Lisa Washington, Amy Wadas and Meghan Schiller.  Now, Lisa, Amy and Meghan are some of KDKA’s reporters … and, just last month, Lisa became the anchor of KDKA’s weekend morning newscasts.

Before I tell you which KDKA personality retired after working there for 37 years, I’d like to give you a fun fact.  Just last month, KDKA added a regular Sunday morning newscast for the first time in the station’s history.  It airs from 7 until 9 on Sunday mornings.

Now, I’d like you to see the personality who retired recently after working at KDKA for 37 years.

On July 26, 2019, I met Jon Burnett while I was at Kennywood Park. Jon retired from KDKA back in June after working there for 37 years. He was the weatherman there for a number of years … and, before that, he did “Pittsburgh 2Day” and “Evening Magazine.” He also co-hosted “Pittsburgh Today Live” in recent years.

I was able to meet Jon Burnett while I was at Kennywood Park.  He retired from KDKA after working there for 37 years.  He did “Evening Magazine” and “Pittsburgh 2Day” before he became a weatherman for KDKA.  He also did “Pittsburgh Today Live” for a while in recent years.

I hope you guys were able to enjoy this two-part blog post as much as I enjoyed it.  I really enjoyed myself at Kennywood during KDKA Summerblast Day.  I did see some other KDKA personalities while I was at Kennywood, but I did not want to disturb them since they were fairly busy.

Enjoy the rest of your day, my friends!

Joseph Visits Kennywood On KDKA Summerblast Day (Part 1)

This week, I’m going to write a two-part blog post for you guys … and, this time, I’m going to talk about my trip to Kennywood, which occurred one month ago.  I went to Kennywood with my relatives for just over seven hours on July 26, 2019.  I went there on KDKA Summerblast Day … and I was able to see several of KDKA’s personalities while I was there.  I will talk about the personalities that I met there in the second part of this blog post, but, today, in the first part of this post, I will just talk about that exciting day in general.

On July 26, 2019, I went to Kennywood Park on KDKA Summerblast Day. I was there for seven hours that day. Both KDKA and Pittsburgh CW were there, but there were mainly KDKA personalities at the event.

I was at Kennywood Park from 12:30 in the afternoon until around 7:30 in the evening on July 26, 2019.  I was able to enjoy myself while I was at the park.  I went there with some of my relatives … and I was able to ride on the train, which is now part of Thomas Town.  Thomas Town is an attraction in Kennywood that features things from Thomas The Tank Engine.  Now, the train was the only thing that I rode on while I was there.  I just walked around the park and saw lots of exciting things while I was at Kennywood.

Now, while I’m talking about Thomas Town, I was able to see KDKA’s Mobile Weather Lab, which is located near Thomas Town.  I also snapped a selfie with the Mobile Weather Lab while I was there.  Now, KDKA sometimes uses the Mobile Weather Lab during its newscasts … and they generally use it a lot whenever we have bad weather events, like snow storms and things like that.

I saw some nice-looking clouds in the skies above Kennywood while I was there.  The clouds here are white, dark and grey … and I also saw some “blue holes” in the clouds as well.

While I was at Kennywood Park that evening, I bumped into three of my friends … and one of them is one of my neighbors on National Hill.  I bumped into Karen, Josh and Amanda Schultz while I was at Kennywood.  I sometimes see Josh and Amanda on National Hill … and Karen is one of my neighbors on National Hill.

Next time, I will wrap up this two-part blog post by telling you about some of the personalities that I saw while I was at Kennywood Park on July 26, 2019.  I will give you a hint right now.  One of them recently retired after working at KDKA for 37 years.

Joseph’s Top Blog Posts For June 2019

June is almost here … and Summer will be here in less than one month.  Now, throughout the Summer, I will be celebrating my blog’s fifth anniversary by giving you some great surprises … and, while I do that, my blog’s features will be taking a well-deserved break until the Fall.  I guess you could say my features will literally be taking a Summer vacation.

Today, I will tell you about some of the blog posts that I’ll be writing down in June.  At least one of the posts may catch your eye.

One of my blog posts will be entitled “I still have my Colussy Chevrolet shirt one year later!”  Nearly one year ago, I got a blue and white Raglan shirt from Colussy Chevrolet, which was celebrating its 100th anniversary last year.  I still like the shirt and I will try to wear it at some point this Summer.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “I have my Yeti Coolers hat one year later!”  I purchased my blue Yeti Coolers hat at Bridgeville T.J. Maxx nearly one year ago.  I like it and I will try to wear it often this Summer.  The hat is very classy and I hope you guys like it also.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “Joseph Remembers His Battle With Lyme Disease Three Years Later.”  In it, I will talk about me getting Lyme Disease from a tick bite three years ago.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “I’m Getting Ready To Celebrate My Blog’s Fifth Anniversary.”  I will be getting ready to celebrate my blog’s fifth anniversary on August 24th … and, in this post, I will be telling you how I’ll be celebrating the milestone.  The celebration will start on July 24th … and it will last for one month.  I will have lots of surprises for you guys between July 24th and August 24th.

I will write a two-part blog post in June … and it will be entitled “Joseph Visit Crazy Horse Coffee.”  In it, I will talk about my trips to Crazy Horse Coffee, which is located in Washington, PA.  The coffee shop is owned by a former veteran named James Bendel.  This coffee shop is fantastic.  I had a small decaffeinated latte while I was there.  Make sure you check this place out if you ride through Washington, PA, someday.

Another one of my blog posts will be entitled “6,000 Views And Counting.”  My blog will hit the 6,000-views mark at some point in June … and I will let you know as soon as we hit that milestone.

I will give my features a break in June … and, throughout the month of June, I will give you chances to revisit some blog posts from my blog’s fourth year.  Some of them may surprise you.

Also, I will give my computer a break for one week in June.  I will be doing that from around 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7th, until around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 16th.  You will see two of these blog posts at different times between those two dates … and I may throw in a surprise in there at some point that week.

I hope you will check out at least one of my blog posts in June.  I’m sure at least one of them may catch your eye.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around May 30th in previous years …

Joseph’s Flashback: Joseph stayed at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott!

In the Fall of 1987, a Marriott hotel first opened up its doors along the Parkway West near Pittsburgh International Airport in Findlay Township.  The hotel is located at the corner of Aten Road and Montour Run Road.  It has almost always been a Marriott hotel … and, a few years ago, it was a Wyndham hotel for a while.

Now, when I was younger, I would visit the hotel several times.  I once toured the place with a relative … and I would also spend some nights at the hotel with my relatives.  I would mainly do that in the Winter months.  The rooms there are fantastic … and they also have a great indoor swimming pool.  It also has a whirlpool, a sauna and a fitness center.  They have an outdoor pool as well, but I have never been to it since it’s not open whenever me and my relatives stayed there in the Wintertime.  I also ate in the hotel’s restaurant … and the food there was fantastic.  Also, while I was in the hotel’s indoor pool a few years ago, I may have been able to see members of the New England Patriots coming into the hotel.  It was an exciting moment for me.

I like this hotel a lot … and I hope I can visit it again soon as an overnight guest.  I rode past the hotel recently … and I noticed that they put in a Dunkin’ Donuts in front of the hotel.  The hotel is very classy!

Next time, I will give you a chance to revisit one of my blog posts from my blog’s second year.

In honor of my blog’s fifth year, I’d like to show you five blog posts that I wrote down on or around April 22nd in previous years …

Joseph’s Flashback: Joseph goes to Erie!

Now, in just a few days, I will be going to Erie with some of my relatives.  I’ll be there from Thursday, August 2nd, until Sunday, August 5th.  Today, I would like to talk about some of my past trips to that city.

It would take me a long time to tell you all of the places that I went to went I was in Erie, so I’ll just sum it up by telling you a few of the places that I would go to while I was there.  Some of the places that I would go to while I was in Erie are Waldameer Park, Presque Isle State Park, The Tom Ridge Environmental Center, Erie’s Bicentennial Tower, Chico’s Travelers Inn, The Pittsburgh Inn and more.  The other places that I have been to while I was in Erie are fantastic also.

This Thursday, I will wish one of my relatives a happy 75th birthday in a blog post.  Then, on Friday, I will talk about one of my friends in my 925th blog post.  Finally, on Saturday, I will celebrate the third anniversary of my black Hewlett-Packard computer.

Enjoy your day!

Joseph Is Not Going To The Cabins This Year!

For the first time in over a decade, I will not be going to Moraine State Park’s cabins, which are located in Butler County.  I would stay there for about one week every year, but, in recent years, I’ve reduced the amount of time that I was able to spend at those cabins.  Last year, I spent about half of the week at the cabins … and, this year, I won’t be going there at all.

Two years ago, I got bit by ticks while I was there … and I ended up getting Lyme disease just days after I returned from the cabins.  I probably won’t be going up there anytime soon.  Enjoy your day, everybody!

I am not using my computer this week, so, this week, I will give you guys two unique blog posts.  I’ll write the other blog post for you guys later this week.

My 888th Blog Post Is About The Number 8

Happy Memorial Day, my friends!  Today, I’m writing my 888th blog post down … and, today, it will be about the number 8.  I will tell you some rather interesting things about the number 8 … and I will try to use the number 8 in the things that I’m talking about here.

The current year is 2018.

One of my favorite routes in the Pittsburgh area is Route 978, which is located in my part of Allegheny County.

For the past few weeks, I was able to watch channel 208 for about 90 minutes on certain evenings.  I needed a way to unwind after going through some tough days.

I started my blog on the eighth month of a year, which would be August.  I started it in August of 2014.  August, of course, is the eighth month of the year.

Depending on my mood, I usually do my best to wind down during the 8:00 hour on certain evenings.  I will watch a program during that hour, if I’m up to it.

Whenever I gave my computer some “vacation time,” I will usually do it for eight days at a time.

My part of National Hill has eight other houses, which are all very unique in many ways.  We actually have nine houses in my part of the neighborhood, but I do like to give praise to the eight other houses, which are located in my part of National Hill.

In the past, I would sometimes work eight hours a week at my local T.J. Maxx store, but, in recent years, I would just work four hours a week at the store.  I really like it.

So, there you have it.  I was able to give you eight interesting facts about the number 8 that I think are interesting to me.  It was the subject of my 888th blog post.

Enjoy your day!
